In 2023, flows of money sent by EU
residents to non-EU countries, referred to as personal transfers,
amounted to €50.9 billion, an increase of 8% compared with €47.0 billion
in 2022. Inflows to the EU totalled €13.9 billion, an increase of 4%
compared with €13.4 billion in 2022. Personal transfers consist of
flows of money sent by EU resident households to non-resident
