On 3 March, two topics marked the agenda of the Commission for Territorial Cohesion Policy and EU Budget (COTER) of the European Committee of the Regions. First, the Committee's recommendations on the Just Transition Fund that is to assist carbon-intense regions in their path towards climate-neutrality. Second, the renewal of the Leipzig Charter on Sustainable European Cities, the multi-level governance model that needs to drive – and boost, sustainable urban development for the decades to come. Members of the European Parliament joined the afternoon session to debate on how to decarbonise the transport sector as a key factor to reach the objectives of the European Green Deal.

Il 3 marzo, due temi hanno segnato l'agenda della Commissione per la politica di coesione territoriale e il bilancio dell'UE (COTER) del Comitato europeo delle regioni.
In primo luogo, le raccomandazioni del Comitato sul Fondo per la transizione giusta, che deve aiutare le regioni ad alta intensità di carbonio nel loro cammino verso la neutralità climatica.
In secondo luogo, il rinnovo della Carta di Lipsia sulle città europee sostenibili, il modello di governance multilivello che deve guidare e promuovere lo sviluppo urbano sostenibile per i decenni a venire.
I membri del Parlamento europeo si sono uniti alla sessione pomeridiana per discutere su come decarbonizzare il settore dei trasporti come fattore chiave per raggiungere gli obiettivi del Green Deal europeo. (...)
