Steady reduction in waste going to landfills
Disposal at landfills declined by 5% between 2004 and 2008, recovery of waste increased by 21 %. This publication shows the development of waste generation and treatment from 2004 to 2008 based on data collected pursuant to the Waste Statistics Regulation. It analyses the breakdown of waste generation by economic activity and by households - as well as by waste category. The development of waste treatment operations such as recovery, incineration and landfill are presented.
