The Tourism Innovation Summit (TIS) 2023     ­
­On 18-20 October, Seville, the 2023 European Capital of Smart Tourism, hosted the 2023 Tourism Innovation Summit (TIS).  

During the fourth edition of the Summit, 7.384 industry professionals discovered the latest trends that are defining smarter, more sustainable and digital tourism. 

The event gathered more than firms and experts from all around the world to share insights in innovation, technology and sustainability needed to transform the tourism sector. 

A dedicated European Capital of Smart Tourism round table discussion was organised in order to present the initiative's objectives with the participation of representatives of the European Commission and the cities of Seville (2023 winner), Gijon (2023 finalist) and Gürsu (2022 EDEN finalist). The future of tourism on ‘National Geographic’
­Pafos, Seville and Kranj are highlighted as three cities that are making a difference in Smart Tourism in a ‘National geographic’ article.

 The innovative practices of the 2023 winner cities set them apart from other tourist destinations around the world.

The recently published report “Leading examples of Smart Tourism Practices in Europe” showcases the selection of best practices in each category of the European Capital of Smart Tourism initiative (accessibility, sustainability, digitalisation, cultural heritage and creativity).
