Most Europeans consider that the digitalisation of the travel documents
is an important step to accelerate border procedures, increase security
and facilitate travelling to or outside the Schengen area.
Specifically,
68% of Europeans are in favour of using digital travel documents for
extra-Schengen travel and 66% of Europeans would prefer having one
single application for a Schengen visa at EU level, rather than one for
