This is "Dithmarscher Kohl" - German cabbage varieties cultivated in Dithmarschen, characterised by their fine leaf layers, crisp texture, small stump and well-rounded flavour. The European Commission has recently approved the request to register it as "Protected Geographical Indication" - PGI. The decision will shortly be published in the Official Journal of the EU.
